About the Opportunity:
Scale's public sector business is growing rapidly, with significant growth powered by customer demand for Donovan, Scale’s AI LLM platform for defense. At Scale, when it comes to performant large language models (LLMs) designed for defense, we know that domain specialists power these AI tools. As a Military Writing Specialist, you will be responsible for producing and grading written content that will train AI models for government use cases.

Responsibilities:
Train AI models by crafting and answering questions related to intelligence, operations, logistics, or other similar military disciplines and domains
Leverage your domain expertise to evaluate and critique corpora of text produced and written by AI systems
Attend regular training sessions for upskilling and quality alignment on writing projects
Integrate feedback from expert instructors into your written work
Minimum qualifications:
5 years minimum experience in military occupation specialties related to planning, logistics, or intelligence
Experience writing professionally using military and formal Department of Defense writing styles
Ability to work 20-40 hours per week
Resume submission detailing your military experience
Compensation, Duration, and Benefits:
Compensation: $26/hour based on experience and qualifications
6-month contract (possibility to renew)
Remote or Hybrid Office Schedule, depending on performance
Interview Process
The interview process for this role will consist of 5 steps:
(1) Submission of your resume and writing samples
(2) Phone screen with a recruiter/hiring manager
(3) Submission of a take-home assessment
(4) Behavioral and Quality interviews
(5) Outcome
Compensation packages at Scale for eligible roles include base salary, equity, and benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position, determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, interview performance, and relevant education or training. Scale employees in eligible roles are also granted equity based compensation, subject to Board of Director approval. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process, and confirm whether the hired role will be eligible for equity grant. The base salary range for this full-time position in the location of St. Louis is:
$26 - $26 USD
